So why still HB in DOA? Considering Shelter + Imba
Frostway HB:OwUS0YIT/ObE5gTfXcfExVBBA
(14+1 HP,13+1 DF --> 177)

(14+1 HP,13+1 DF --> 177)
UA+HB = 160-180 HP partywide
The problem is LB signet is on 25 cooldown. (20 after essence)
Today when I was doing ZB the HB also got interrupted by autoattack when casting Ethereal Light. Perhaps it was him/her just being bad at HB. I run UA with DH/HD even in DOA (it's actually better in balling situations) and with cons the recharge isn't as bad also.
Isn't Healing Burst a better option since you have Shelter (ST rit)? With cons it is basically spammable. I guess the only real problem is Grenth's Balance, but that can be mopped up by spot heals (burst spot heals too) and Panic should stop them from happening partywide.
100-110 Divine Healing with cons on 12 recharge (=6 if you have Heaven's Delight on the same bar). Keep in mind, higher DF allows for better seed of life as well, which is by far a stronger skill than Heal Party on any spec.

Red= less than UA+DH/HD on 14 DF spec (+1 for cons) with superior DF headgear swap
Orange = matched by UA + DH/HD on 16 DF spec (+1 for cons) on superior headgear permanently
Yellow = <10% more heal (120 or less) than 16 DF spec (+1 for cons)

In short: Because they are pugs.
Self-respecting teams aren't running Frostway or any variation of Glaive due to it being slow as all hell.

UA will always be needed that instant rez is very handy in pugs and other monk can run what ever

The thread wasn't questioning the use of UA.
Life:The problem with DoA is it is largely pug based these days with a few guilds who know what they're doing mixed in. You must always assume that pugs are stupid and in those terms,use the simplest of bars. (You can't rely on anyone unless you know them/played with before)
Even with Shelter and Imbagon parties have problems but I have yet to play with Burst so can't really comment on how good it would be to replace HB,but I can see potential if organised..

I do DoA HM with a few friends and heros. We use a human UA + N/Rt hero healer. HB can't keep up.

im saying all a doa team needs is ua and the other monk can be anything healing burst, woh or hb it doesnt really matter with all the defense but pve too srs aye?

N/Rt lacks a fast recharge party heal (Protective was Kaolai is on 25, 20 after cons) and Life/Rejuvenation spirits aren't as mobile unless you have Summon Spirits. However, you don't have to worry about enchant removals and energy management is lols compared to HB (3 energy regen, need to upkeep UA AND HB).

Our N/Rt is a Hero, so summon spirit is out of the question. Our N/Rt does carry PwK and Life, and our UA carries HP. Between those, we don't have any problems at all.

My advise: Stop doing DwG. And stop bothering about it for that matter, but hey, that's just the elitist speaking here.. But I still got some viable advise that might be good anyway, a good life lesson on the go^^
If you have good suggestions or come up with good ideas my best advise to you is that you do it. If you wanna do Healing Burst, go for it, if it's good, then it is. If PUGs ask your build and you ping Healer's Boon they'll be happy, and you can run Burst nonetheless.. And if they start bitching say that it's better and that it's their own damn fault for taking a PUG in the first place and DwG in the second place...
When I do DoASCs and the VoR calls a target (when I'm not VoR :P) I usually take a target that I think is best. Which it usually is.. You gotta be inventive, and if your way proves better, do it..
That doesn't mean if someone tells you to do something go "screw him I go do things MY way" no I meant that you have to be creative and don't screw the team up :P..
